One status, computed from the file8 stages

Every fact keeps its source and check date

We only do corporate returns

No personal returns, no partnerships, no side business. Every reviewer on your file works on corporate returns every week, so questions about basis, reasonable compensation, state nexus and franchise reports are routine work rather than a learning curve.

Written scope before work

Every engagement lists what is included and, just as visibly, what is excluded.

Independent reviewer

A second person reviews the draft before you are asked to sign anything.

Evidence, not assumptions

A filing is accepted only when an acknowledgement is stored for that jurisdiction and version.

Your data stays private

Private buckets, row level security, short-lived links and audited downloads.

The process

Eight stages, and you always know which one you are in

Each stage has an owner and an explicit criterion for moving forward, so the status you see comes from the file itself rather than from a summary.

  1. 01

    Arrival

You send a request or a guide answer comes in. We record the source and what you already have.

Owner: Operations·Advances when: Company, tax type and year captured.

  2. 02

    Quote and engagement

A written scope with price, inclusions and exclusions. Work starts once the payment has settled — a closed browser tab is never treated as proof of payment.

Owner: Operations·Advances when: Engagement accepted and payment confirmed.

  3. 03

    Onboarding

Portal access, the file for the tax year, the information list, and the official dates kept apart from our working dates.

Owner: Operations·Advances when: Portal active and requirements issued.

  4. 04

    Information collection

Organizer, document upload and optional read-only accounting connection, until the team confirms the information is sufficient.

Owner: Client and preparer·Advances when: A preparer marks the information sufficient.

  5. 05

    Preparation

Draft preparation, structured extraction proposals reviewed by a human, then an independent reviewer pass.

Owner: Preparer and reviewer·Advances when: Reviewer approves the draft version.

  6. 06

    Approval

You receive an identified draft version and authorise e-file on that exact version (Form 8879-CORP through Drake E-Sign).

Owner: Client·Advances when: Signed authorisation matches the transmitted draft hash.

  7. 07

    Filing

Transmission per jurisdiction, with the acknowledgement stored. A rejection opens a correction; it is never marked accepted by inference.

Owner: Operations·Advances when: Acknowledgement stored per jurisdiction.

  8. 08

    Delivery

Filed copies, acknowledgements, payment instructions, K-1 access for shareholders and the next corporate dates.

Owner: Operations·Advances when: Copies delivered and next dates published to the portal.

What is included, and what is not

Included in a corporate engagement

  • Information request list and organizer for your entity type
  • Preparation of federal Form 1120 or 1120-S
  • Applicable state corporate income, franchise and annual report filings quoted in your proposal
  • Reviewer pass before anything is sent to you for signature
  • Transmission with acknowledgement stored per jurisdiction
  • Delivery of filed copies, payment instructions and next deadlines

Not included

  • Representation before the IRS or a state agency
  • Responses to notices that defend a position, audits, appeals or collections
  • Personal returns (Form 1040) and partnership returns (Form 1065)
  • Legal or tax advice on structuring, and bookkeeping cleanup beyond the quoted scope
  • Guarantees of refunds, savings or processing times
If your file raises a question that needs representation, we explain it, ask for your written consent, and refer you to an allied attorney. We do not answer notices for you.

The corporate year

Fifty-one jurisdictions, two federal forms, one calendar.

Corporate compliance is not one deadline. It is a set of them, per state. Here is the whole map, including what we are still confirming.

What a corporation actually faces

51 jurisdictions

Every state chart below is a count of the corporate obligations we have confirmed against an agency source. Nothing here is an average or an estimate.

Corporate income tax
45of 51 · 88%
Franchise or privilege tax
17of 51 · 33%
Annual report required
48of 51 · 94%
19still being confirmed· last checked 2026-11-03

The counts come from the same verified facts each state guide shows. A jurisdiction with a rule still in confirmation is counted in neither the yes nor the no.

The federal dates that shape the year

Statutory due dates for a calendar-year corporation, and what an extension does to each of them.

  • 1120-S · S corporation

    Due 15 Mar · Extended 15 Sep

    JanAprJulOctDec
  • 1120 · C corporation

    Due 15 Apr · Extended 15 Oct

    JanAprJulOctDec

An extension moves the filing date, not the payment date.

Coverage

Every jurisdiction, one square, the facts behind it.

The colour says how many corporate obligations we have confirmed for that state: income tax, franchise tax and annual report. A hatched square still has a rule in confirmation, and the guide says so.

What working here feels like

A person with a name

Your file has a named preparer and a named reviewer. You are not writing to a mailbox; you are writing to your team.

A different reviewer

The person who reviews is not the person who prepared. That second pass happens before we ask you to sign.

One status, not five emails

You can see which stage your return is in and what is missing, computed from the file rather than from an email.

Who works on your file

Your file is handled by a preparer, an independent reviewer and an operations coordinator. The credentials behind it — PTIN, EFIN, state registrations — are on record with their evidence and expiry date. We publish a credential only when we can show it.

Individual credentials are published only once current evidence is on file.

State guides

Guides are written in English and Spanish and appear as a preparer signs them off. A state without a reviewed guide says so: we would rather show you fewer pages than a date we cannot source.

Published so far

Guides go live as a preparer signs them off. Where a state has no reviewed guide yet, its page says so instead of filling the gap.

Frequently asked questions

Do you prepare personal returns?

No. We prepare corporate returns only: Forms 1120 and 1120-S and the state corporate filings that apply. If you need a Form 1040 we introduce a partner preparer, and you contract with them directly.

Do you represent my company before the IRS?

No. Our scope is collect, prepare, review, authorise, transmit and deliver. Representation — defending a position, audits, appeals, collections — is excluded and referred to an allied attorney with your written consent.

Can you work with an LLC?

Yes, when the LLC has elected to be taxed as a corporation, or when we file the election first. We verify the classification instead of guessing from the name.

Where do you publish your credentials?

Credentials (PTIN, EFIN, state registrations) are recorded with evidence, type and expiry, and only published once verified. Nothing on this site claims a credential that has not been verified.

How do you use artificial intelligence?

As an internal organising aid: classifying documents, proposing extractions and flagging inconsistencies. Every proposal is reviewed by a person, and the AI never decides an obligation, signs or files anything.

What happens if my state has a separate report?

The states with activity are reviewed, the rules applied are recorded with a source and a check date, and any filing not quoted in your engagement is listed as a reminder rather than silently promised.

Start with the organizer

The organizer turns what you already have into the exact list of what is missing. It does not ask for a Social Security number and it does not decide obligations: a person reviews them.

Corporations only: we do not prepare personal (1040) or partnership (1065) returns.

  1. Get the checklist

Forms, books, payroll and assets the team needs for your entity type.

  2. Upload what you have

The portal stores each file in a private space with an access log.

  3. Get scope and price

If the file fits, you get a written proposal. If a price is missing from the book, it goes to review rather than being invented.

Start with the facts about your company

A short questionnaire gives you a written scope and price, or a manual review if your situation is not standard.
